Odd Crop Farm is looking for farmland !
Do you have land or know someone who does? Help two local CNY’ers stay in the area and grow good quality food for our community next season. Land access is one of the biggest barriers for young farmers today, and as farm crew members who worked to run other farm productions for the past 6+ years — we need support accessing our own land. Read more below, and thank you!

“Access to land and the ability to purchase it were rated as the top barriers to entering farming in a new survey released by the National Young Farmers Coalition and analyzed by the University of Wisconsin Survey Center.”
— Ximena Bustillo, “There aren't enough young farmers.”, NPR
What We Are Looking For
4+ Acreage Plot
4+ acres of open or pasture land, mostly flat or not entirely sloped. Think tillable acreage for organic vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Longterm leasing (10+ year contract) and/or to Rent-to-Own
Or Owner financing with a downpayment. We are looking for longterm stability at our next farm location.
PERC-tested and building-approved
The building of non-permanent structures like greenhouses and low tunnels. Plus, coolers, storage sheds, etc.
Not on a busy state road or highway
This is for our own longterm success, happiness, and safety of our animals. Busy roads are difficult to navigate with tractors and other large machinery.
A stable space for two locals to grow a farm business
An organic veggie, herb, and flower production requires a lot of time and labor to prep the space for long-term success. We need to know that we can invest in a location, and not have to move after a year of laboring — constant moves lead to burnout, financial distress, and lack of connection to the community.
Location: Madison County, Chenango County and Otsego County
We’re hoping to remain local to where we grew up. But understand and are open to what is available and makes sense for the future.
